The Martha Vandervoort Memorial Scholarship was established to recognize Calhoun County high school seniors who are leaders in their schools and communities, excellent students and have a financial need. The chosen Scholar represents not only the ideals of Martha Vandervoort and the RMC Foundation, but they are also a seed of hope for the future.
Martha Vandervoort was an inspiration. She loved people; all people, regardless of their backgrounds or circumstances. She was a walking example of a servant leader and modeled the behavior she expected of others. She believed it was better to serve than to be served, and people should be willing to do the same things they ask others to do. Martha loved her family and was inspired by her faith in God.
Our hope for the Martha Vandervoort Memorial Scholarship is to invest in individuals with benevolent character and a servant's heart, and to close the gap for their unmet financial need in order to provide a higher education. A Calhoun County student is selected each year to receive $6,000 annually to a college or university of their choosing.
